Study Abroad Programs That Actually Teach Something
Immersive 5–14 day programs for middle and high school students — with full curriculum support, safety infrastructure, and guides who know how to work with young people.
Most study abroad programs are tours with a school logo slapped on them. Ours aren’t.
EducaTours study abroad programs are academically structured, immersive experiences where students live, learn, and grow in another culture with real curriculum documentation, safety infrastructure built for school groups, and expert guides on the ground every day.
Designed for grades 6–12, our programs combine daily academic programming with cultural immersion, community engagement, and structured student reflection. The result is an experience that satisfies administrators, reassures parents, and genuinely changes how students see the world.

What’s Included in Every Program
Whether you’re traveling for 5 days or 14, every EducaTours study abroad program includes the following as standard.
5–14 Day Structured Programs Choose from established programs in Dubai, Washington DC, and London — or work with us to build a custom destination. Every program is structured around daily academic goals, not just sightseeing.
Daily Curriculum Documentation Every guided session comes with documentation your school can use for academic credit, IB portfolios, or transcript support. We make the paperwork easy.
Partner School & Community Engagement Students don’t just visit — they connect. Our programs include structured engagement with local schools and community organizations so students experience the culture from the inside.
Student Digital Portfolios & Reflection Journals Built-in tools for students to document their learning throughout the trip. Useful for assessment, college applications, and personal growth.
Parent Communication Portal Daily updates and photos so parents are never left wondering. This alone removes one of the biggest friction points schools face when getting parent sign-off on international travel.
Full Safety Infrastructure Risk assessments, travel insurance guidance, and emergency protocols are built into every program. We’ve thought through the scenarios so you don’t have to.
Inclusive Programming LGBTQ+ inclusive, ADA accessible, and culturally sensitive. Every student is welcome and considered in how we design our programs.

Our Approach to AI & Technology
In some cases, we use AI-assisted tools to help design itineraries, personalize pre-reading content, and generate student materials – and we think you should know that. We do not use AI at all in our Washington, DC experiences.
Every piece of AI-generated content in our programs is reviewed and curated by qualified human educators before it reaches a student. Any AI-assisted materials are clearly labeled. We believe in the responsible use of technology in education, which means being transparent about it – not hiding it.
DESTINATIONS
Washington DC — The defining American civics experience. Monuments, memorials, the Capitol, and the stories most textbooks leave out.
Dubai & Abu Dhabi — Ancient culture alongside record-breaking modern architecture. A destination that challenges every assumption students bring with them.
London & York — Shakespeare, the British Empire, the World Wars, and medieval history — all walkable and deeply connected to what students study in class.
Custom Destinations — Have a specific destination in mind? We build custom programs for schools with a clear academic focus or existing travel relationships.
WHO IT’S FOR
Our study abroad programs are designed for middle and high school students in grades 6–12. We work with public, private, charter, international, and IB schools — as well as homeschool co-ops and independent student groups traveling with adult supervisors.
Not sure if your school qualifies or if your group is the right size? Reach out and ask. We’ve made it work for groups of all kinds.
PRICING & HOW TO GET STARTED
Every program is priced based on destination, length, group size, and included activities — so we don’t publish a standard rate. What we can tell you is that we build proposals to fit real school budgets, and there’s no cost or commitment to get a quote.
The fastest way to get started is to fill out our inquiry form. We’ll follow up within 48 hours with a proposed itinerary and a pricing range for your review.

A Day in Washington DC — What to Expect
Every day is structured around a theme or a question your students will be able to answer by the time they go to sleep. Here’s what that looks like in practice.
Morning: Guided Educational Session The day starts with a focused walking tour led by your EducaTours guide. Each morning session is built around a specific curriculum theme such as the civil rights movement, the architecture of democracy, or the making of American foreign policy. Students aren’t just walking and looking. They’re being asked questions, making connections, and building toward an understanding they didn’t have at breakfast.
Sample morning: A guided walk from the Lincoln Memorial to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, exploring the arc of civil rights history through the design of the monuments themselves.
Midday: Independent Exploration with Structure After the guided session, students have time to explore on their own or in small groups, but with a purpose. They’re working on their digital portfolio entry for the day, completing a reflection prompt, or visiting a specific museum exhibit tied to the morning’s theme. Chaperones supervise. Guides are available.
Sample midday: A self-guided visit to the National Museum of American History with a structured scavenger hunt tied to the morning’s civil rights theme.
Afternoon: Community or Cultural Engagement The afternoon is where the trip goes beyond what any textbook can offer. Depending on the day, this might be a meet-and-greet with a local organization, a visit to a neighborhood outside the tourist corridor, a Q&A with a working professional in a field relevant to the group’s academic focus, or a structured discussion session back at the hotel.
Sample afternoon: A visit to the Anacostia neighborhood with a local community guide exploring how DC’s history looks different depending on where you’re standing.

Evening: Reflection & Group Debrief Before dinner, students spend 20–30 minutes on their reflection journals using guided prompts that help them process what they experienced and connect it back to their coursework.
After dinner, the group debrief is informal: what surprised you today? What changed your mind? What do you want to learn more about? These conversations are often the most memorable part of the whole trip.
A note for teachers and coordinators: Every element of the day from the morning session, the portfolio prompt, to the reflection journal, generates documentation your school can use. We provide a full summary at the end of the program that maps each day’s activities to your curriculum standards.
