Dubai & Abu Dhabi

Dubai and Abu Dhabi offer students one of the most remarkable educational landscapes in the world. Bedouin heritage, Islamic architecture, pearl diving history, and 21st-century innovation exist side by side in a way that cannot be found anywhere else. Our Dubai and Abu Dhabi field trips are led by Dubai by Foot’s expert local guides and designed to connect directly to UAE Ministry of Education and international school curriculum standards.

Expert educator guides

Every Dubai by Foot guide is a former teacher with classroom experience. They know how to hold the attention of a group of students and how to connect what they are seeing to what students are already learning in class.

Pre-visit teacher preparation kit

Before the trip your students are already prepared. We provide cultural preparation materials, discussion guides, and background reading so the field trip hits harder from the very first stop.

Student journal and vocabulary guide

Every student receives a journal and vocabulary guide designed to deepen engagement during the tour and support classroom follow-up afterward.

Curriculum alignment documentation

Full documentation mapping each field trip to UAE MoE Social Studies, Islamic Studies, and international curriculum standards. Ready to submit for school approval and administrator sign-off.

Post-trip learning activities

Reflection activities and classroom extensions are included so the learning continues after the tour ends. Useful for portfolios, assessment tasks, and demonstrating educational outcomes.

Trusted by 60+ schools every term

Our Old Dubai heritage tour alone runs for over 60 schools each term. We have the experience, the logistics, and the relationships to make your field trip run smoothly from first inquiry to final debrief.

Every field trip is customizable to your group’s grade level, curriculum focus, and schedule. These are our most popular programs — each one refined through hundreds of school visits.

Pearls, Tents and Bedouin Life in the UAE

Our most popular field trip, conducted every term for over 60 schools. This experience takes students through Al Shindagha, Al Fahidi, the souks, and the Dubai Creek to introduce them to Emirati heritage, Islamic architecture, and pre-oil Dubai. Students walk the same paths where pearl divers once gathered, touch the coral stones that built a city, and learn about traditions passed down through generations.

Old Dubai Field Trip: Souks, Abra Rides, and the Trading Economy

Students journey through Old Dubai’s historic neighborhoods as the city’s transformation from trading port to global metropolis comes to life around them. This tour combines interactive activities, hands-on learning, and expert storytelling to connect Dubai’s remarkable past to the present-day city students see every day.

Authentic abra ride across Dubai Creek

Students experience traditional water transport on the same crossing traders have made for centuries.

Souk exploration

Navigate the Gold, Spice, and Textile Souks with a guide who knows the history and the stories behind every stall.

Live heritage demonstrations

Expert guides lead hands-on activities that bring traditional crafts, architecture, and merchant life to life for students of every age.

Traditional architecture

From wind towers to coral-stone walls, students see how Dubai’s earliest builders solved the challenges of life in the Gulf.

Merchant stories and trading history

The story of how Dubai grew from a small fishing village to a global trading hub is told through the people and places that made it possible.

Classroom extensions included

Hands-on activities and post-visit materials extend the learning back into the classroom long after the tour ends.

Sharing the Planet: UAE Local Emirati Farm Field Trip

Students feed a baby goat, say hello to an Arabian Oryx, watch fresh vegetables harvested straight from the soil, and discover where their food actually comes from. This hands-on learning experience connects students to Emirati agricultural traditions, food systems, and the natural environment of the UAE in a way no classroom lesson can replicate. One of our most talked-about field trips among students and teachers alike.

Downtown Dubai Art and Architecture Field Trip

Downtown Dubai is home to some of the widest range of Arab and South Asian art in the region. This tour unpacks how Downtown Dubai was designed, why art is integral to Dubai’s architectural journey, and how aesthetic beauty is woven into the fabric of the city. Beginning inside Dubai Mall and moving through Souk Al Bahar into Burj Plaza and the Dubai Opera complex, students encounter the Burj Khalifa, the Walk of Stars, the Dubai Fountain, and the dhow-shaped Opera building.

Along the way the tour connects the UAE’s cultural symbolism to its modern construction achievements. Students observe major works including Jorge Marin’s Wings of Mexico, El Seed’s Declaration, the Three Finger Salute Statue, and the pearl-diving dhow shaped Dubai Opera Building by Janus Rostock. The tour ties together Dubai’s remarkable growth story through the art and architecture that tells it.
